When experiencing problems with one of our caststream presentations these tips might provide a solution:

    Check your Quicktime player settings
  • We also found out that a bug in the Windows version of QuickTime will prevent it from running along side a caststream presentation. Instructions on how to correct the QuickTime problem are as follows:

  • Selecting the correct connection speed:

      - Windows user, who connect to the Internet via dial-up (modem):
      1. Launch your QuickTime application.
      2. Go to "Edit" on the menu.
      3. Choose "Preferences", and select "QuickTime Preferences...".
      4. On the next Window (QuickTime Settings), make sure that "Connection Speed" is chosen on the drop down list above.
      5. On the lower drop down list, select "112 Kbps Dual ISDN/DSL" (if not already selected).
      6. Close the window.
      7. Restart QuickTime, and try the INSPIRE presentation again.

      - Windows users, connecting to the Internet via DSL or cable modem:
      Please follow steps 1-4 as above, and make sure that the speed of the DSL/Cable is set to the download speed of your DSL service.
      Contact your internet provider or system administrator if you're not sure what this speed is.

    Selecting the correct Streaming Transport Setting:

      - Windows users:
      1. Launch your QuickTime application.
      2. Go to "Edit" on the menu.
      3. Choose "Preferences", and select "QuickTime Preferences...".
      4. On the next Window (QuickTime Settings), make sure that "Streaming Transport" is chosen on the drop down list above.
      5. The checkbox "Automically determine the best protocol and port ID" should be selected. (if not already selected).
      6. Close the window.
      7. Restart QuickTime, and try the INSPIRE presentation again.

      - Macintosh users:
      1. Launch your QuickTime application.
      2. Go to "Quicktime Player" on the menu.
      3. Choose "Preferences", and select "QuickTime Preferences...".
      4. On the next Window (QuickTime), make sure that "Connection" is chosen from the items above.
      5. Select "Transport Setup" 5. The checkbox "Automically determine the best protocol and port ID" should be selected. (if not already selected).
      6. Close the window.
      7. Restart QuickTime, and try the INSPIRE presentation again.

    Check your Firewall settings
  • Make sure you are not behind a firewall while you are trying to view the INSPIRE presentation.
    The INSPIRE presentation will not work if you are not able to establish connections over Port 80. This basically means that if you are not able to surf the web using your web browser, the INSPIRE presenation will not be able to open on your machine.
    Contact your internet provider or system administrator if you think you are having any firewall related problems.
