Numerical Summaries Numerical summaries examine a single aspect of the distribution. Partly because this is an extremely severe paring down of information, you should always make a graph of the data first. Otherwise, there is a danger that you will throw away important information if you pay attention to only the numerical summaries. The two most important aspects of the distribution that we summarize: center and spread. |
